A must have story about brothers, birds and boats. Set in Cabbage Tree Creek, Luke and his big brother Ben are quite different. The main link between them is the desire to win a boat so they can explore Cabbage Tree Creek, just think of the possibilities and the places they could explore.

Award winning author Peter Carnavas has created a gently calm and caring story that's filled with love for birds and Ben's brother.

Ben is now in high school and the two boys start to drift apart and Luke is curious, because he's noticed that his big brother has started going out at night when he isn't supposed to and wonders what he is up to. Somethings brewing, but what is it?

This as a gentler, peaceful book for the reader to become engrossed in. It's also about birds and other people's interactions and attitudes. The small illustrations are helpful for the reader to identify different species, yet it's not a picture book by any stretch of the imagination.

The little pen illustrations just somehow fit in with the story as they are scattered on some pages.

A good read for the primary school aged child and perhaps it may get them interested in the birds around us.
