Next and sixth in this series of these fun engaging stores Willa and Woof,  Willa begins by introducing herself as a grey nurse shark, but then quickly clarifies that this the role she has in the school play.

In this story for younger independent readers they find out what happens when not everyone is getting on as well as they should do when preparing for the school play. This play as Willa tells you was written by her friend's dad, Mark.

She didn't fancy the idea of being a mermaid in the playas he suggested so she leaped at the idea of being a grey nurse shark, one of the nicer sharks because she gets to help there mermaids.

In Double the Drama, Willa finds out what to do when friendships and ideas don't always go according to plan whether that's people, her best friend since birth Tae, pets or circumstances. She also realises that it's best to talk with someone responsible rather than worrying about it.

Willa is hoping that the new people moving in across the street will have a girl who is the same age as her. Dad says she only has to wait and see until tomorrow, when they are moving in. It is just as well she finds they all get along well and go to the same school, but there's something still bothering her.

Will her friendship with Tae ever be the same again?

The introduction of kids with disabilities is thoughtfully placed as the neighbourhood friends ask questions in a kind way and inherently realise they can be helpful when it's needed. Interestingly the characters, Peter, Anne-Marie, Hudson and Brandon are based on.a real family and the close loving relationship between brothers,

Another good read with good storylines for younger independent readers, ideal to add to your collection of Willa and Woof.
