Another fun to read story in the Willa and Woof series by Jacqueline Harvey.

The Wedding Rescue story begins as Willa introduces herself to readers discussing a conversation she has had with older friend who lives next door at the retirement village.  He is trying to cheer her up because Willa isn't happy because she has to wear a dress she says looks like a meringue.

It is mid-summer and which also means it's bushfire season. When the signs of disaster strikes there is a sudden scramble to get organised as Willa's family must go somewhere they will be safe.

On top of this, her Aunty Jane and Uncle Michael who are soon to be married and the reason for that dress that Willa says looks like a meringue, but you'll need to read this to find out what happens and if their wedding venue is safe.

But things aren't exactly going to plan. Frank, Willa's  best old-age friend is trying to help her as he tells her that she can't organise everything for her Aunty Jane's weddng Frank says you're "only eight", eight and three-quarters she retorts in the nicest way, but Willa's a great organiser and gets on with the job.

Willa is a delightful girl and the story is a good fun read with some gripping moments. An ideal book for 6 to 9 year olds.
