Critters, Game On!

By Emily Snape

Published by EK Books

ISBN  9781922539984

Max who is obsessed with gaming and his younger brother Liam are ready for an adventure, but not one as catastrophic as this will turn out in the beginning.

This enthralling story is very well written, plus it's educational and it's interesting to see how Max deals with some complicated family situations.

The illustrations are terrific showing expressive faces and situations when a rogue app transforms the boys from humans to fleas. How will they cope with that we wondered?

It all goes wrong when a rogue app transforms them from human boys into fleas, and it only gets worse from there. The speed a cheetah can run and the acidity of pigeon poo have never been more important. A laugh out loud, fast-paced adventure full of comic-style illustrations that bring the action to life and will absorb even the most reluctant of readers.

It all goes downhill from there, in a fun way, when with this crazy rogue app really testing Max to see how fast he can work out things like how fast a cheetah can run and, the acidity of pigeon poo.

Critters Game On! is an hilariously funny illustrated story that's not quite a graphic novel that's a gripping read. It is a great page turner. The author writes a wonderful story, she knows how to keep the reader turning those pages to find out what's going to happen next.

A good story book for ages 7 - 12 years.
