There can not be many younger readers who don't love unicorns, those magical creatures that make kids happy and wish they had one of their very own.

In this adventurous story there is a unicorn and a princess. Princess Matilda or Tillie for short,  loves her dachshunds, Mitzi and Fritzi and sliding down the grand bannister at her home Rosenburg Palace, but she is not supposed to do that sort of thing.

It is not fitting behaviour for a princess, so says the royal family butler who tells her off a few times a day. But, oh never mind, Princess Tillie puts up with that because she likes to do fun things and looks forward to spending time with her mother the queen every afternoon at tea time together with her siblings.

PT as the gorgeous unicorn calls her, loves Black Forest cake and it's not long before her unicorn discovers a love of it too. In fact, its becomes the unicorns favourite food.

There's a lot more to this story as readers age 6 - 9 will find out that Princess Tillie is brave and loves getting into all sorts of adventures. The first one she needs to do is find out who the thief is in the Rosenburg Palace gardens. When they do find out the thief's fate relies on Tillie to plead the case

Rosenburg Palace is aptly named and the perfect setting for lots of fun and adventure with Tillie as she must find out who is stealing the roses so not to spoil the gardens for the summer harvest festival. Her adventures with the unicorn, her mum and dad, the queen and king and her siblings, not forgetting the dachshunds are a delight.

It is a happy and fun book, ideal for encouraging reading and one that will keep young readers turning the pages.
