In this creative thrilling adventure for readers are life lessons, the importance of truth, sinister games and a cursed family tree.
Set in the Empire of Arylia, 'The Lost History' begins as in the aftermath of a long and bloody war between the Malevolents and the eventually triumphant Arylians.
Unfortunately, the Wintrish people, the servant class, are not so triumphant.
Their Wintrish Quarter has been raised to the ground following a riot by the Arylians, alleging that the Wintrish have become traitors.
This is followed by a mass trial in an overcrowded court room, the verdict of which is that the Wintrish are guilty. They are sentenced to immediate punishment by the 'Greying Curse', a mist that is instantly released which turns their hair gray, their faces expressionless as their thoughts and feelings are erased.
One Wintrish girl, not with the others, is Penn, the servant of Princess Seraphine. The two girls are in a school room together, being taught by the history teacher, Professor Thripp.
Seraphine is being treated with dignity and respect but Penn is not. Penn believes she is related to the ruling classes. Somewhere in her memory, she feels there is a history, a 'Lost History'. She has decided to strike out and find it.
Thus begins a journey, where she meets up with allies and enemies and encounters many adventures on the way.
Does Penn find 'The Lost History'? You will need to read the book to uncover the answer to that question.
The author Melanie La'brooy has written four books for adults. This book is the sequel to the award-winning 'Wintrish Girl', the first children's book by the author. She writes well and Penn's adventures keep the pages turning quickly.
This book is ideal for all readers who enjoy losing themselves in the world of fantasy novels.
