In Rosenborg it mid-winter's eve and the time for the Ice Festival tonight. Princess Tillie is admiring the falling snow and thinking about the fun she will have, the beautiful fireworks and she's trying to encourage Honey Blossom the unicorn that it is a good idea to go and watch this spectacular.

Problem is that Honey Blossom tells PT - that's short for Princess Tille, unicorns don't like the cold and she will be quite happy snug

and warm, wrapped up in the Castle. The Royal dogs Ftitzi and Mitzi yap in agreement, they ar all quite happy exactly where they are. But Princess Tillie is trying to convince them that it will be fun and they should go and see what her papa  father) King has planned for the fireworks. Problem is he can't quite get the formula for the fireworks right, he has forgotten how much and the measurements he needs for each ingredient. Honey Blossom reminds PT what happened last year!

Then we meet Bruno the bully and what a pest he is, creating all sorts of problems, especially for those fireworks which then awaken the giant, the Grumpy Giant. He is definitely not happy that he has been awoken before the spring thaw, definitely does not like winter and all fuss that is going on.

This is a most delightful and fun story with intrigue and wonder to keep  younger readers from age 6 years and over, hooked to the story with delightful imagination and scenes and lovely black and white illustrations.

Recommended for ages 6 years and over.
