The PM's Daughter

by Meredith Costain
Published by Penguin Random House
ISBN 9781761046704

Like any teenagers Cat or Cata, or just Cat as she often says, wants to fight and protest whoever is in power and make changes, especially when it comes to climate change. There's just one problem, it's her mother who is the PM.

The storyline opens as she's arriving in Canberra to take up residence in The Lodge, the official Prime Minister's residence, from their home in Perth. Cat really isn't impressed, she didn't want to leave her friends or her home. She does have her great-aunt with her who can help when her mum is in meetings and unavailable.

It is well written and easy to read that gets you into the crux of the  story quickly. It is a book for young adults can captures the thoughts, attitudes and sometimes rebelliousness of this age group finding their way into adulthood.

It is easy to keep turning the pages to find out what Cat will be up to next, whether it's at her new school where other students are in awe of her or getting up to a bit of mischief. It becomes clear that Cat will defend her mum no matter what.

The first episode that we saw of the  TV series is very close to the book but I recommend reading the book. Click on the links below to purchase your copy and have it delivered to you.
