Its the end of the Summer holidays and 13 year old Clem Timmis is looking forward to seeing her friends. She soon discovers that things have changed over the long holidays.

One of her friends, Bridge has suddenly become boy mad and Ellie is wearing a bra!

Six months ago Clem and her family moved back into their new home after rebuilding when their old house burned down, but somehow it just doesn't feel like home, even though Clem appreciates how much her parents have done to make it homely. It is just not like the nice comfortable old one she's always known.

The girls are planning on going off to camp and they have to shop for the adventure, rather than wait for them to decide on the choices of each food item they're taking, Clem says well take both. Seems the sensible thing to do!

This an age when things can become topsy turvy and this easy to read and charming story deals with the things that matter at this age such as finding the way to fit in. It deals with the delicate balance of being thirteen, growing up but not yet grown up, reliance on parents, the changes within and growing as a young person and working out what and where you want to be.

The Melbourne based author Nova Weetman has written for the children’s television series Pixel Pinkie and Buzz Bumble.
