A dog who goes grocery shopping, yes, you read that correctly, every Saturday with a basket, a list and the money walks past Jo's house and sees that Jo is bored and lonely. School is out for the holidays at last, but Jo is bored and Jo her family are missing their dad as he is away so often on business.

In this cleverly illustrated graphic novel by the author tells the story of friendship and the importance of belonging through Jo. Jo is an introverted girl and when she meets an adorable dog who she calls Pawcasso she follows him around and soon, her friends mistakenly think that she is Pawcasso's owner.

Jo doesn't tell them she isn't his owner and so what starts off as a Chihuahua sized lie becomes as a big as Great Dane lie! Along the way Jo with the help of her friends saves Pawcasso from going to the pound. Eventually Pawcasso's real owner appears and fortunately for Jo after apologies and a discussion she is not only forgiven, but also welcome to go and see him whenever she wants.

There's an easy recipe for the banana ice cream they love, worth trying!

The story and the illustrations make his a lovely book for 8 -12 year olds.
