A fun and educational story for young readers, ages 5+ about a penguin. Found on a beach in Brazil by Joao he names him Dindim.

This is a story showing what love, caring and bonding relationships between man and animals. A tiny penguin washes up ashore covered in oil and so sick that he can't even open his eye. Fortunately for the little penguin Joao finds him, takes him home and carefully washes and cares for his needs. He calls the little penguin Dindim who responds to his kind and caring treatment.

When it's time for Dindim to return to his colony he doesn't want to leave the man who has been so good to him. Eventually he does swim away and sometime later returns after a 8,000 mile swim to see his good friend.

A sturdy hardback book, Where the Heart is illustrated in soft pastels, it's a lovely book to read with emerging readers as they learn about love and caring for others.
