Most of us love planning a big holiday and thinking about the places we want to see and in this illustrated travel story it gives the young reader the
opportunity to to help plan where they would like to go on the big family holiday around Europe. The story begins with Hunter poring over a map with all the places the family could go., Continuing, each double pages highlights an experience, animals or iconic buildings or monuments of each country.
Written in rhyming verse, it is fun to read as the excitement builds once we know the bags are packed, the passports are ready. Turning the pages showing the illustrated images of what to expect once at the airport and seated in the plane and for a long journey to Europe.
From the rolling green hills in England with cream teas and cucumber sandwiches, it's onwards to Scotland to see the fluffy cows (Highland cows), the puffins fishing and then over to Iceland where she wants to build black sandcastles on the beach.
She seems so enthusiastic as this story takes you travelling through ten countries with her family, experiencing all that each one has to offer. Hunter on Holiday makes is a lovely book to read together or for newly independent readers. Ideal for families thinking of holidays, getting their children involved in planning or simply dreaming, or learning to read with an interesting story.
