You Are A Wildlife Warrior

Saving Animals and the Planet

by Bindi Irwin with Smriti Prasadam-Halls

Illustrated by Ramona Kaulitki

Published by Penguin Random House
ISBN  9781761350962

Bindi Irwin, daughter of the world renowned wildlife warrior, Steve Irwin first picture book for younger children is a delightful way to introduce them to the world of conservation.

It is packed with interesting facts and the "did you know" questions on most pages will amaze young readers.

The muted yet colourful illustrations show big, large, small animals in their natural habitat interspersed with fun facts. There are lemurs, meerkats, giraffes, zebras  and rhinos, birds,  kangaroos, and as you would expect, crocodiles.

Bindi shares her memories and some photos, growing up with her parents and animals and some of her special, remarkable memories and how her young daughter Grace is also learning to protect the planet and the animals encouraging readers to do the same. Included are easy positive suggestions how everyone can do this and help.

This is a lovely book for ages 5  - 7 and for an older sibling or parent to read the more in-depth two page section about growing up surrounded by animals.
