This very well written book with black and white illustrations that add to the story s a delight to read, ideal for ages 7 and over. The green notice asking students to audition for the next production, Little Red Guiding Hood, attracts Amanda's attention. She is rather excited about the possibilities, but first wants to talk about it with her friends. Lu and Mai.

The girls get together in their HQ in Amanda's garden. There is an exciting story about the HQ which is a converted shipping container.

They all become quite excited as the thought of this production, especially as there are quite a few roles in this play, All they need to do now is to convince their friend Rosie who has a good signing voice to audition, but she isn't the only one who wants this part and one of the other girls acts like she is the green-eyed monster. But how will they do that? She will need encouragement and convincing and now Mei is worried she will embarrass herself.

Once they discover the three friends have all been chosen to act in the play, the fear that Rosie will step down to give the other girl the part. This calls for action. Serious action back at HQ.

All works out in the end, this book is peppered with introducing each girl's family back grounds, Irish, Italian and Vietnamese and the special things that they all love and share together.

It is easy reading with quite a few twists and turns that are sure to keep readers happy enjoying this relatable story.
