We know that many people suffer with stress at some stage of their lives, some for longer periods than others, especially in these difficult times. There are many factors that cause stress but it is how we deal with it that makes a difference.

Reading  Stephanie Dowrick's latest book I found informative, helpful and written in a down to earth easy to understand style that just makes a lot of sense.

Stephanie Dowrick, PhD shares some of her own experiences that most of us could relate to while giving clarity and answers. She encourages self help and ideas through reading this book and refers to other books as a first steps as well as seeking professional help where and if needed. .Stephanie Dowrick gives insights and looks at different ways to look at anxiety that is supportive using her decades of experience as a as a psychotherapist, a public speaker and author.

Topics include panic attacks, blaming one's parents, other people's opinions, self soothing and self medicating, individual stories and examples are quite eye opening, as are the chapters on self-care, the power of venting, thinking aloud, how to abandon anxiety are all helpful.

The chapter on learning from one's tough experiences, "tough experiences are never wasted" is a must read.

Whether you have limited or occasional anxiety or feeling far more stressed, reading the advice is helpful and inspiring. Frankly, I would have loved to have had this resource years ago when I needed it most. Stress can be harmful in several ways to one's health and Your Name is Not Anxious could be just the help one needs.

It's helpful that you can choose to read this book from the beginning to end or read by relevant chapters as and when needed. It is a book I'd keep on the bookshelf for times when circumstances that make one anxious or temporarily stressed could help ease the load.
