A lively illustrated story book in which the little storyteller insists this is not a book! He gives all sorts of scenarios as to what a book is such as there would be pages to turn if this was a book, but oops, I've just turned a page! He says there would a story plot if this was book which he insists there aren't any of these.

It is a fun little read and could open up conversations with emerging readers as to what a story book is. The illustrations are rather cute, especially of the main character.

The author Kellie Byrnes is a children’s author, presenter, mentor, book reviewer, kidlit blogger, and full-time freelance writer with a BA degree in Literature. Kellie’s first picture book, Cloud Conductor, came out in 2018, followed by Yes! No and Evie Is All Ears. Kellie also has two more picture books and her first junior fiction novel on the way.



Aska is an award-winning illustrator, artist and scientist. As an Arts and Physics graduate, she has lived all over the world but now calls Australia home. She has also been telling stories through pictures all of her life.
