The proviso is that, if you want to travel differently, and not in the way most people do, you may find this book helpful. The author, is a seasoned traveller with rather different views on travel compared to conventional touring or holiday making. It does make interesting reading although it can be a bit "preachy" at times.

This is one of those books that doesn't needn't be read cover to cover as one continuous flow, it has helpful chapters and can be read on an ad hoc basis as reference book.
If you are thinking of travel from a cultural perspective and getting to know a country in-depth there are some good tips and advice. Some of these, we have implemented ourselves over the years and some of the others that we think are a good idea and would recommend to friends.
If however, you are content to visit the main attractions, be those well-known sites, museums and theme parks with family, then you may also want to read some of the advice given to find out how to get a deeper view of life in those countries you are visiting.
