Best Ever Baking Recipes

Although this is not a new book on baking, after all it was published in 2012, this is a recipe book I want to share with readers. It is sure to become a loved classic.

Over the years I have received many books on baking to review. I am a keen and very competent baker, I simply love cooking and baking, it is something I think about several times a day! To give every book a fair review I always bake or cook a few recipes from each book. So far no other book on baking has matched Best Ever Baking Recipes. I have made several recipes many times and tried just as many others, although I haven't quite baked all 200 yet.

The outstanding features of Best Ever Baking Recipes is that every recipe just works. And works so well. David Herbert includes a snippet of information at the start of about recipe and I love the clear instructions, So far I have not found a missing ingredient, or a rogue recipe as I have in some others baking books and, every recipe turns out a winner. Some of the recipes are also easily adaptable, ideal if you like to occasionally add your own touch or innovation.

It is a perfect recipe book for baking cakes for celebrations, Christmas, birthdays and more, as well as for everyday slices, some gluten free options, biscuits, scones and small cakes.

This is a must have for any family, baker's or even non-baker's recipe library. It is the first book I turn to when baking for what has become a tradition over the past year, our Thursday afternoon tea with friends. Quite a few are shared on @sandaslandcake on Instagram.
