In this new book by the illustrator of Tree Beings, is a gently told story of "what will I become".

Amongst the detailed drawings of the forest floor and the forest surroundings, a little grub is growing and growing and senses that he is about to change. His burning question is what will he become.

He asks the insects around him, the ladybird, who explains the metamorphosis before becoming a pretty ladybird and Grub soon realises that's not what's in store for him.

Grub moves on and asks the monarch butterfly if he will grow beautiful wings too. He asks the cicadas, the stick insects, a dragonfly and then he feels some big changes happening.

This is a lovely and informative book for younger children who enjoy exploring illustrations which will fire the curiosity about the small occupants of our natural world.

Readers will go onto discover the great big Hercules beetle, one the world's largest beetles with giant pincers.

The author, Sandra Severgnini has a fascination with the magical natural world around her. Through her illustrations and words she inspires humour and a fun way to learn about nature.
