Unfortunately there are always bullies around, of all ages, from very young children onwards. In this illustrated book, Scott, a sweet gentle boy is picked on by the school bully. Everyday the bully says and does nasty things to Scott and makes him feel awful. Luckily he has his friend Rosie to talk to and his friend Buttons, his bear that he takes to school wit him everyday. Buttons is his brave mascot.

On dress ups day Scott goes to school to face yet another thoughtless day of bullying and eventually he find his brave, as he calls it. This means that Scott stands up fro himself and gives back as good as he gets. As we would expect the bully quickly backs down and thanks to the teacher and his friend Rosie understands why it's not nice to be a bully.

This is a gentle and sweet way of helping children who maybe experiencing bullying in preschool or early primary school and could also be useful for the bully. Actually it should be read with all younger children to give them an idea of what happens when people are bullied.
