Four friends show the strength and transformative power of kindness. We can all do with a little more kindness, actually a lot more and The Kindness Project is right on cue for ages 8 to 11 years.
Written in verse with words highlighted in bold, in various fonts and patterns that thoughtfully demonstrate feelings and emotions cleverly enhance their stories.
Some made me smile, like Nanna who loves watching crime stories and hates dry cake, but her grand daughter comes to the rescue and asks if she wants to escape Alcatraz - in other words where she is living and the everyday. You can't help but smile and imagine their conversations.
The story easy to read and shows kindness, hope and compassion as the four friends overcome their differences with snack acts of kindness. A particularly good example ae the pages on how friendship works. as well as the shared secrets and getting to know and understand each of the friends families,
The Kindness Project is heartwarming story ideal for the age group that could easily keep them reading and learning what a difference it makes to what you can achieve when you work together.
