Eight year old Freddie is sports crazy, well that's more like sports knowledge crazy. He knows so many quirky facts about sport. But he is worried, very worried

Freddie and his sister Henrietta have their school sports day coming up soon and he is dreading it. He reckons he is no good at playing any sports and fears having to play in front of the whole school and make a fool of himself.

One day while settling down to his homework he hears him mum calling him or he says wonders why she I yelling for him to go downstairs when she's jut told him to go upstairs and do his homework.

Well, you can't blame his mum when she finds a ball in the microwave oven and she knows there is only one person in the family who would do that. Quick thinking Freddie comes up with his feasible explanation but doesn't tell her there's also a ball in the freezer!

Freddie seems like a boy who loves to have fun in this cheerful fun-filled story about his sports knowledge and how he leaves sticky notes all over the house, all with these sports facts. Some odd ones like how many dimples there are on a golf ball, in the 19th Century billiard balls would explode if they were hit too hard,  gentoo penguins body surf, soccer of illegal in the US State of Mississippi until as recently as 1991 and many more.

This well written action packed feel-good creative story book is ideal for 7 to 10 year olds, while reading good information and may just help fire up imaginations.

Lovely book, with delightful black and white illustrations recommended reading.
