A good fun, adventurous graphic novel with a little fantasy, for ages 7 - 11, with a gorgeous story and matching graphics in calm peaceful colours to compliment the adventures that Lily Halfmoon and friends.


Lily Halfmoon  is a witch and with her friends they fight off the monsters and any dark magic. She has an animal guardian and importantly her powerful and magic gemstone.


The story shows what a difference it makes when friends band together to protect their town of Piedraville from any dangers.

Readers discover there is a Witches Council, a Chinese School of Five Elements, A Californian Academy of Witches, A Mayan School of the Cosmos and a Sumerian Institute of Spell Writing and several others like this around the world and what they all do,


Lily is un a bt of a bind, there is a mysterious person is wats he rare moonstone and we need to find out if they manage to get it and if they do what will happen. Or will Lily's friends come to the rescue? It is almost Samhain, when magic is strongest. Witches get together from all over the world, at Lily's school where they have fun activities, demonstrations, kelpie train and all sorts of races.

This is a well written and charmingly illustrated graphic novel for the age group, for good fun engaging reading.


The Author

Xavier Bonet is a self-taught illustrator and comic book artist. He lives in Barcelona with his two children. He started in a little animation studio as a background artist, and eventually embarked on a career as a professional illustrator. He has illustrated many children's books including Omnia by Laura Gallego, the volumes of Michael Dahl's Really Scary Stories, The Keepers Trilogy by Lian Tanner and Jabberwocky and Other Poems by Lewis Carroll. He loves all things retro, video games and Japanese food, but above all, spending time with his family.
